Amanda Beadles is the Economic Development Director for the City as of May 1, 2019.  Amanda manages and directs the city’s efforts aimed at business, economic and community development. Amanda's focus is to provide resources for local businesses’ retention and expansion efforts, pursue new business through business attraction efforts and to market the community for increase tourism. She has thorough knowledge of the City’s programs aimed at business growth such as Enterprise Zone, HELP loans and the business beautification Façade Program. Through these means her efforts increase overall economic growth for the community.
 
Amanda continues with the Tuesday Morning Business Connection. This a meeting held on the 1st Tuesday of every month from 7:30 - 8:30 am where business owners from all over the City have the opportunity to share concerns and ideas on how we can work together to help grow our business climate in the City.  We want to know the issues or needs of our local businesses. This meeting provides face time with the Mayor and may include the Chief of Police, Fire Chief, Public Works Superintendent, Zoning Officer, and the Economic Development Director. This "One Stop Shop" to address all your business needs provides an opportunity to connect with other business owners in the community, share concerns, and create action items to move businesses forward.

Business Meeting:
Tuesday Morning Business Connection - held the 1st Tuesday of every month from 7:30 to 8:30 am at City Hall. 

Economic Development Department programs for businesses:

HELP Loan - A low-interest loan program for new and expanding businesses
Facade Program - A facade improvement opportunity where the City pays a portion of the cost
Enterprise Zone - A designated area of the city planned for commercial and residential rehab or new construction. Sales tax exemption from building materials purchased plus a portion of your real estate taxes can be abated.
