TIF Districts
TIF stands for Tax Increment Financing District - A TIF district is a vehicle for a municipality to provide incentives to develop territory that likely would not develop without municipal assistance.
The City of Chillicothe TIF District closed April 2022. The Central Business TIF runs along 4th Street/Route 29 from Beech to the South to Truitt to the North and goes West to Front Street.
TIF Plaza closed in 2020. TIF Plaza covered businesses located on 4th St. / Route 29 between McGrath to the South and Beech to the North. A portion of 3rd Street is also included in the TIF district from Plaza Dr. to the South to Beech to the North.
